Applications are now being accepted for the Romanian Government Scholarship 2024-25. The scholarship is fully supported by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Applicants to Romanian government scholarships are eligible to study for Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral Degrees at Romanian universities. All nationalities are eligible to apply for the award. The expenses will be fully covered by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Every year, the Romanian government offers scholarships to students who wish to pursue higher education in the country.

International students from countries outside of the European Union are eligible to apply for the award. The Undergraduate Scholarship will last from 3 to 6 years, while the Masters’ Program will last from 1.5 to 2 years, and the Doctorate Degree will last from 3 to 4 years. The Romanian universities offer a wide variety of academic disciplines. Applicants for this Romanian Government Scholarship are not required to pay a registration fee.

Note: Scholarships are not available in the professions of Medicine, Dentistry, or Pharmacy.

Financial Benefits of the Romanian Government Scholarship 2024-25:

The Romanian Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs support the Romanian Government scholarship 2024-25 in collaboration. Thus, all international students studying in Romania are eligible to receive full scholarships.

Monthly Allowance:

  • For Undergraduate Students: 65 EURO/MONTH (1st cycle).
  • Master’s Studies: 75 EUR each month (2nd cycle).

Note: International transportation is not included in the scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Except for European member states, foreign nationals come from all over the world.
  • Citizenship in Romania should not be awarded.
  • You must be at least 35 years old to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree, and at least 45 years old to pursue doctorate or postgraduate study.

Required Documents:

The following documents must be included in the application file:

  • Official letter issued from the diplomatic mission of the country of origin accredited in Bucharest, or from the Romanian diplomatic mission in the country of origin or residence;
  • Forms for applying for a scholarship in Romania completed correctly (APPENDIX 1);
  • The MER application form (APPENDIX 2) for obtaining a Letter of Acceptance to Study in Romania;
  • Legalized copies of the achieved study diplomas (baccalaureate diploma or its equivalent + bachelor’s, master’s, and doctor’s degrees, if any) and their legalized translation into one of the following languages, if required: English, French, or Romanian;
  • Legalized copies of graduate school matriculation sheets/diploma supplements, as well as their authorized translations, where applicable;
  • A certified translation of the birth certificate in one of the following languages and a legalized copy of the birth certificate: English, French, or Romanian are acceptable.
  • A photocopy of the first three pages of the passport;
  • The medical certificate attesting to the fact that the person enrolling in the research is free of communicable illnesses or other problems that would make the needed investigations impossible; The applicant’s curriculum vitae;
  • Recent photographs – two pieces, passport size

The following documents will be included in the application file (only for candidates who fit into the categories listed for each document):

  • Copy and certified translation of proof of name change (where applicable);
  • For current year’s graduates, the certificate attesting the passing of the baccalaureate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral exam – copy and certified translation;
  • If appropriate, a certificate of completion of the Romanian preparatory year or a certificate of language proficiency;
  • In the case of juvenile candidates, a declaration of parental consent is required (in one of the following languages: English, French or Romanian).
