Eligibility Criteria:

The following criteria must be met in order to qualify for the Shandong University Scholarship 2024-25 in China:

  • Countries Eligible: Applications are encouraged from countries other than the People’s Republic of China.
Requirements for the degree and age:
  • Students applying for Bachelor’s degree programs must be a high school graduate or have equivalent qualifications, as well as be under 25 years of age;
  • The applicant for a Master program must be under the age of 35 and hold a Bachelor’s degree, or have equivalent qualifications, in order to be considered for admission;
  • When applying for Ph.D. programs, applicants are required to possess a Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification and must be under 40 years old when applying.
  • The ability to perform well academically and conduct scientific research is essential.
  • SDU Scholarships are not available to applicants who are receiving other scholarships funded by the Chinese government during the period that they are receiving the scholarship from SDU.

Chinese programs are taught as follows:

  • Applicants who wish to apply for Bachelor degrees must have obtained at least 210 points on the HSK 4 test;
  • Applicants for Master’s degrees must have obtained 180 points or greater on the HSK 5 test;
  • Applicants for Ph.D. programs must have obtained 180 points or more on the HSK 6 test.
English-taught programs
  • The subject must be a native English speaker (from the U.K., U.S., Canada, New Zealand, or Australia).
  • The University requires that English speakers submit results of IELTS (6.0 or higher), TOEFL (80 points or higher / MyBest Scores are accepted, DI code: C296) or other equivalent examinations in order to demonstrate their proficiency in the language.
  • It is not necessary to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores if you are an English speaker who has obtained the highest degree or diploma in an institution where English is the language of instruction. You will need to provide official documentation confirming that English is the language of instruction.
